The Hobbit: 70th Anniversary Edition
The Hobbit was published on 21 September 1937, with a print run of 1,500 copies. With a beautiful cover design, nearly a dozen black & white illustrations and two black & red maps by the author himself, the book proved to be popular and was reprinted shortly afterwards. History was already being made.
This deluxe hardcover edition of J.R.R. Tolkien's classic prelude to his Lord of the Ringstrilogy contains a short introduction by Christopher Tolkien, a reset text incorporating the most up-to-date corrections, and all of Tolkien's own drawings and full-colour illustrations, including the rare "Mirkwood" piece.
